About Opus Paraplanning
Opus Paraplanning was founded by Lawrie Tawse, a Chartered Financial Planner with nearly two decades of experience in financial services.
Lawrie began his career in financial advice in 2007, before moving into senior regional and national management roles in operations and compliance. In 2016, he launched his own financial planning firm, becoming directly authorised and later acquiring a retiring adviser's business. After successfully growing and running the practice, he sold the firm in 2023.
Alongside his work in advice, Lawrie has provided consultancy support to other financial planning firms and held interests in several non-financial services businesses. In 2025, he established Opus Paraplanning to bring together his broad industry knowledge and first-hand business experience — with the goal of delivering high-quality, practical paraplanning support to advice firms across the UK.
